The City of Darlington is seeking a person to enforce Chapter 13, Public Nuisance Ordinance. This is a part-time position and responsibilities include exterior inspections of all residential and commercial buildings throughout the city, evaluating the outside building surfaces; along with writing up property maintenance violations, letter of abatement, and violation warnings. This inspector will patrol the cavity looking for violations outlined in Chapter 13, Public Nuisance Section of the City of Darlington Municipal Ordinance, maintaining an esthetically, pleasant environment for the community. Inspector will work April through September; 10 to 15 hours per week. Starting wage based on experience. Valid driver’s license required. Successful applicants will be subject to a background check.
