Year-Round Activities
Pickleball: Pickleball is open to anyone interested in playing. The program is held year-round in the Municipal Building Gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Nets, paddles, and balls are provided. The tennis court at the Swimming Pool Park is also set up for pickleball.
Fall Activities
Flag Football: 3rd - 6th grade. Flag football starts in late August with games beginning in September on Saturday mornings at Black Bridge Park. Fee: $ 25.00.
Girls’ Volleyball: 4th - 6th grade. Volleyball starts in September on Saturday Mornings at the Darlington Middle School Gym. Practices and games are held Saturday mornings throughout the season.
Winter Activities
Women's Volleyball League: The Women's Volleyball League team meeting is held the 1st week in August with play to begin on the Monday following Labor Day. Women's League plays on Monday evenings at the Darlington Municipal Building gym.
Adult Basketball League: Adult Basketball League starts Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the Municipal Building Gym. We will be playing random draw 5 vs 5, full court. First game will start at 7:00 pm and end at 9:00 pm. Game length, rules, etc. will be determined by those present. Winners keep court. Season will go 10 weeks, longer if we have interest. Cost: $10 up front covers you for the full season, $2 a night otherwise. League is open to both men and women.
Boys’ Basketball: 1st - 4th grade. Basketball starts in December on Saturday mornings at the Darlington Municipal Building gym. Practices and games are held Saturday mornings throughout the season. Information will be sent out through the schools. Fee: $25.00.
Girls’ Basketball: 1st - 4th grade. Basketball starts in December on Saturday afternoons at the Darlington Municipal Building gym. Practices and games are held Saturday afternoons throughout the season. Information will be sent out through the schools. Fee: $25.00.
Open Gym: The Darlington Municipal Building gym is open for activities after school on Mondays and Wednesdays until 5:00 pm and Fridays until 3:30 pm. The free gym program starts on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 and continues throughout the winter months ending later in the spring.
Summer Activities
Men's Softball League: Men's League plays games on Tuesday evenings at the City Field. A Men's Softball League managers meeting is held at the beginning of April with play to begin in mid-May, 2022.
Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League: A recreational co-ed adult volleyball league is held at the sand volleyball courts located at the Black Bridge Park on Wednesday evenings. The league meeting is held in late April with play to being in late May.
T-Ball:
Pre – K, Kindergarten and 1st grade: T – Ball starts on Monday, June 10th. The first week of T – Ball, (June 10th, 12th, and 14th) players will meet daily (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 9:30 till 10:30 for practice on fundamentals and drills: throwing, hitting, fielding and the rules of the game. The remainder of the summer their practices will be held on Mondays with games being played on Wednesdays and Fridays. Friday, June 14th, all T - Ball players will be divided equally into teams. Team T - shirts will be handed out. The T–ball program will use a soft baseball, hitting off a stationary batting tee. There are four Friday evening games scheduled. The dates are: June 21st, June 28th, July 19th, and July 26th. Fee: $ 25.00
Coach Pitch: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. Coach Pitch starts on Monday, June 10th. The first week of Coach Pitch, (June 10th, 12th, and 14th) players will meet daily (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 10:30 till 11:30 for practice on fundamentals and drills: throwing, hitting, fielding and the rules of the game. The remainder of the summer their practices will be held on Mondays with games being played on Wednesdays and Fridays. Friday, June 14th, all coach pitch players will be divided equally into teams. Team T - shirts will be handed out. There are four Friday evening games scheduled. The dates are: June 21st, June 28th, July 19th, and July 26th.Fee: $25.00
Girls’ Softball: 3rd and 4th grade. Softball is tentatively scheduled to start in late March. Additional information will be handed out thru the school system as the season nears. Practice and games are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings at SIEG field starting at 5:00 pm. Practice times during the month of May will be announced at the first practice. The girls have scheduled games against surrounding communities. Fee: $30.00
