Spring is just around the corner, so the City of Darlington would like to reminder City Residents of a few simple rules regarding Spring yard clean-up.
* Brush & yard waste pick-up is the 2nd Tuesday of each month. If the 2nd Tuesday falls on a holiday, pick-up will take place the following business day.
* Please have items to the curb prior to 7am – the street crew will only make one pass down each street.
* Do not place yard waste at the curb more than 72 hous before the scheduled pick-up date.
* Place loose yard waste in open containers or paper bags at the curb.
* Leaves should be placed in open containers or paper bags at the curb. The street crew does not use the leaf vaccum in the Spring – do not rake leaves into the street.
* Brush should be neatly stacked at the curb, with the butt-ends facing the street
* DO NOT PLACE ITEMS IN THE STREET. With the rainy season upon us, placing yard waste and leaves in the street will cause those items to be washed to the storm sewers, causing blockages in the storm sewers.
* YARD WASTE NOT PROPERLY PLACED IN CONTAINERS OR PROPERLY STACKED WILL BE REFUSED PICK-UP
* If City residents are looking to dispose of yard waste during times other than the monthly pick-up, it may be taken to the City’s compost site located in the quarry behind the City Garage at 137 Spring Street.
* THE CITY QUARRY IS FOR YARD WASTE COMPOST ONLY! CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND OTHER GARBAGE ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED!

La primavera está a la vuelta de la esquina, por lo que la Ciudad de Darlington desea recordar a los residentes de la ciudad algunas reglas sencillas sobre la limpieza de patios en primavera.

La recolección de ramas y desechos de jardín se realiza el segundo martes de cada mes. Si el segundo martes cae en un día festivo, la recolección se realizará el siguiente día hábil.

Por favor coloque los artículos en la acera antes de las 7:00 a.m. — el personal de calles solo pasará una vez por cada calle.

No coloque desechos de jardín en la acera más de 72 horas antes de la fecha programada de recolección.

Coloque los desechos sueltos de jardín en contenedores abiertos o bolsas de papel en la acera.

Las hojas deben colocarse en contenedores abiertos o bolsas de papel en la acera. El personal de calles no utiliza la aspiradora de hojas en primavera, por lo que no barra las hojas hacia la calle.

Las ramas deben colocarse ordenadamente apiladas en la acera, con los extremos gruesos apuntando hacia la calle.

NO COLOQUE ARTÍCULOS EN LA CALLE. Con la temporada de lluvias acercándose, colocar desechos de jardín y hojas en la calle puede hacer que estos sean arrastrados hacia los drenajes pluviales, causando obstrucciones en el sistema de alcantarillado pluvial.

LOS DESECHOS DE JARDÍN QUE NO ESTÉN COLOCADOS CORRECTAMENTE EN CONTENEDORES O APILADOS ADECUADAMENTE NO SERÁN RECOGIDOS.

Si los residentes desean desechar desechos de jardín en otros momentos fuera de la recolección mensual, pueden llevarlos al sitio de compostaje de la ciudad, ubicado en la cantera detrás del garaje municipal en 137 Spring Street.
